Project Brief
This project is an introductory media exploration aimed at investigating the potential of diverse illustration techniques across both manual and digital workflows. Using a unified nature-inspired and whimsical theme, the objective was to experiment with image creation and manipulation through distinct visual approaches while maintaining conceptual consistency.
The project explores three stylistic directions: a surrealist hybrid illustration featuring ethereal jellyfish intertwined with floral elements; an atmospheric fantasy environment of a glowing mushroom village focusing on light and depth rendering; and a retro 8-bit pixel art character emphasising grid-based composition and high-contrast aesthetics. Together, these works demonstrate versatility in visual language, technical adaptability, and stylistic experimentation within illustration practice.
